Are you feeling a little low lately?
Maybe one of the reasons is that you have been neglecting your emotional health.
Here are 3 tips to be emotionally healthy:
1. Don’t be too hard on yourself
Being negative and too hard on yourself
is like putting “unhealthy deposits” in your emotional tanks. This will
surely make you feel down or depressed.
Yes it is good to be excellent but
committing a mistake is not enough reason to pull yourself all the way
down. Learn from your mistakes and choose to strain forward (Philippians
3:14).
2. Being resilient is the key
According to mayoclinic.org, “Stress
is a normal psychological and physical reaction to positive or negative
situations in your life… Stress itself isn’t abnormal or bad. What’s
important is how you deal with stress.”
Emotions that are not expressed properly
oftentimes lead to stress or negative moods such as anxiety and
depression. Having an outlet to express yourself like for example, a
group of trusted friends who are willing to encourage and listen to you,
can be very helpful.
These factors can help boost your resilience not just against stress but also against life’s challenges.
3. Learn how to slow down
Maintain a balanced lifestyle. Have fun
or spend time with yourself once in a while. Release life’s pressure and
try to cool down by doing the hobbies that you enjoy. Treat yourself.
This will surely keep your “emotional tanks” healthy and happy!
